Check-In
Hey all my crafty pals! There has been quite the increase in views of this blog which makes me extremely happy :D I just wish that more of you guys would comment so I could get to know my readers. But it's okay if you don't, I'm shy too.
Anyway, since I last wrote my life decided to get a little more complicated. If you ask me it felt like I was back in high school again somewhat. One of my friends had decided to stop talking to me for no apparent reason. That threw me for a loop. But to makes things worse there was a bad accident and lost a dear classmate. It is sad when someone that young dies but he really had a future and was just a good-hearted gentleman. It was a long ordeal for the family to go through and my heart goes out to them.
Only the past couple days have things turned around. I found some old craft projects that my great-grandma and grandma had made. My favorite is a quilt that my great-grandma (she was very crafty in her day) hand stitched together. I will try to put some pictures up when I can. Besides finding some family history, we are thinking of adopting a dog as well. Hopefully things will work out so we can get her. It's still a little up in the air but I know she would make a great addition to our family.
Also, my next crafting project will be able to begin. I think I finally have all the things I need. So hopefully this weekend I can get that done or at least a good chunk of it done. I will be posting that on its own so it's still a bit of a surprise.
I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day Weekend and were able to take some time to craft and to remember.
Stay crafty readers!

Crocheted Laptop Case Info
Finally right! I thought I was never going to get this project done, and the sad thing is I forgot to grab embellishments to finish it off (I really need to start writing lists). But I promised myself I was going to get this tutorial up here and not take any longer than it needed. I will just have to post some of my finished case later.
Anyway, the tutorial has it's own page found at the top on the "tabs" bar. If you have any issues what so ever feel free to contact me.

Ack! Birds!
I hope everyone had an enjoyable Mother's Day! We sure did, plus my
mom's lilac bush has shipped so hopefully that will be here before the
end of the week. And guess what else will be here before the end of the
week? That's right, the yarn! I'm super excited to get this project
done (lugging around the box my laptop came in is pretty tacky) and to
get the tutorial up here for you guys. It's a super easy project that
really takes no time at all, that is if you have all the supplies
(oops).
Anyway, why I'm writing is to share with you that a mommy bird has decided to use our gutter as a place to build her nest this season. I noticed her up there when I let Midnight outside. Now I am extremely afraid of birds (crows mostly, my mom and grandma thought it was a good idea to have a six-year-old girl watch the Hitchcock film "The Birds") so I had my mom investigate encase things got a little ugly. But really the momma bird was quite calm, in fact so calm we thought she was dead for a second. It was quite chilly outside so she must have been keepin' her eggs warm and didn't really care what we were doing as long as we weren't after her eggs. But I'm sure she won't be as calm when they are hatched and we get close. Hopefully tomorrow I can get a few pictures of "Momma" and her nest to post on here. Until then, happy crafting (I have more projects for you guys to come)!

Laptop Case Update
Happy Mother's Day (in advance)
As most of you know, tomorrow is Mother's Day which is a great time
to honor and cheerish not only our moms, but all the important women in
our lives. Personally, I am taking over the household chores that my
mom does on a daily basis for today and tomorrow so she can relax. My
mom is in love with lilacs so I also ordered her a lilac bush/tree but
that won't get here for a while yet. But here is a picture of what it
will hopefully grow to become.
Its called Aucubaefolia, and it has green leaves with speckles of yellow running through them and is a deep purple bud that bursts open to be sky blue. Plus it is very fragrant, which is probably my second favorite part about spring (tulips are my favorite). This lovely variety of lilacs I ordered from Christine's Lilacs which is based in Maine, quite the distance from Iowa that that little guy will be making. When it arrives I will take picture of our planting experience.
I hope all of you have a great Mother's Day!
