Dew drops on brown blades of grass
Remnants of snow disappear
Spring is in the air
Sparrows begin to move back
Watch as they build their nests
Crows no longer welcomed
Spring is in the air
Bugs awaken from their slumber
Smell the crispness of flowers about to bloom
Trees wait patiently for leaves to bud
Spring is in the air
Shirtless men running around campus
Feel the temperature rise
All seems right with the world
Maybe a little love, too. :) Really nice use of the repeated phrase and vivid word pictures.
ReplyDeleteI like how you crossed out love in that last line. This is such a powerful and descriptive poem of how spring is in the air. I think spring is probably my favorite season of the year. I'm glad that it's almost here!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the poem. It brings the spring closer.
ReplyDeleteAhhh spring at college...love... that's what I'm thinking about... and what you are looking forward to,
ReplyDeleteEnjoy Christine
Spring does make you feel as if love is in the air! Was that a Freudian slip?
